The Battles:
In the second phase, called “Battle”, trainers assemble teams for a “sing-off”. The trainer divides the artists into groups of three. Each group is given one of her songs to sing along with. They are supervised and further developed by their respective coaches.
During the Battle Phase, a singing showdown begins and only the artist who sings the song better in the coach’s opinion advances to the next round. Season 4 added steals, allowing each coach to steal an underperforming artist from the other team. The theft continues into Season 5.
The Sing-offs:
The third phase, called “The Sing-offs”, is a recent addition to the local franchise. This is similar to The Voice Kids’ ‘sing-off’ in the Netherlands, where each coach selects only a certain number of artists (2 in the first 2 seasons and 3 in the next 3 seasons) to advance to the semi-finals.
